Charlotte Farley has been fascinated by words since childhood: the rhythm of syllables, the subtle shifts in diction, and the ways language shapes stories and stirs emotion. That love of language has carried through every chapter of her career, whether teaching middle and high school English, writing grants for nonprofits, or helping creative businesses find the right words to connect with their audiences.

Today, Charlotte is a professional writer, grant consultant, and content strategist who partners with nonprofits and small businesses to inspire support and drive meaningful results. She has secured over $500,000 in grant funding for organizations focused on community, education, children, and the arts, including the Virginia Children’s Book Festival, Opera on the James, Wharton Memorial Foundation, and Bower Center for the Arts, and more. Her expertise also includes freelance writing and editing, SEO-driven content strategy, digital marketing, and brand messaging, helping organizations expand their reach and strengthen their impact.

Earlier in her career, Charlotte served as an English and Creative Writing teacher. She revitalized the creative writing and literary magazine programs during her tenure, and under her leadership, these publications earned national recognition and top awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. She later presented at the CSPA Spring Convention and has since served on its Board of Judges.

Her writing life extends beyond client work. Charlotte has written feature articles for print magazines, advised an award-winning literary magazine, and published poetry in LIGHT, The Listening Eye, and other literary journals. In 2025, she founded Mayfair Storyhouse, a small literary studio and boutique press based in Virginia, devoted to books that invite reflection, evoke joy, and kindle a sense of self and home.

A professional pianist and proud Long Island native, she comes by her fondness for Billy Joel and bagels honestly and unapologetically. These days, she lives with her husband and children in Virginia’s beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains.
