Charlotte Farley is a professional writer, grant consultant, and content strategist who helps nonprofits and small businesses find the right words to connect with their audiences, inspire support, and drive real results. She’s secured nearly $500K in grant funding for organizations focused on community, education, children, and the arts, working with groups like the Virginia Children’s Book Festival, the Wharton Memorial Foundation, the Bower Center for the Arts, and others.
Her expertise extends beyond fundraising—SEO-driven content strategy, digital marketing, and brand messaging are also part of her toolkit, helping organizations expand their reach and strengthen their impact.
Before freelancing, she taught English and Creative Writing. During her tenure, she revived the creative writing and literary magazine programs; these publications earned national recognition and top-place awards from the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. Charlotte had the honor of presenting at the CSPA Spring Convention in 2008 and has since served on the Board of Judges.
Somewhere along the way, she’s continued to write for herself—her poetry appears in various literary magazines, and she still drafts silly children’s stories from time to time. She also brings 30+ years of piano experienceto the mix, from accompanying musicals and choirs to performing at bars, cafés, and restaurants. Occasionally, she fills in on keys for local bands and provides live music for events—lately, she’s been exploring dueling piano gigs just for fun.
A professional pianist and born-and-bred Long Island girl, she comes by her fondness for Billy Joel and bagels honestly and unapologetically. These days, Charlottes lives with her husband and children in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.
